Committee	Fresno Westside Mosquito Abatement District
Enabling Legislation	Health and Safety Code Sections 2000 - 2090 et seq.
Membership	Three Members Appointed by the BOS
Term Specifications	Two or four years at the discretion of the Board; terms of office commence at noon on the first Monday in January.
Compensation	$100 month, in lieu of travel stipend
Duties	Within the district's boundaries or in territory that is located outside the district from which vectors and vectorborne diseases may enter the district, a district may do all of the following: Conduct surveillance programs and other appropriate studies of vectors and vectorborne diseases; and take any and all necessary or proper actions to prevent the occurrence of vectors and vectorborne diseases; and take any and all necessary or proper actions to abate or control vectors and vectorborne diseases.
Qualifications	• Each appointee must reside both in Fresno County and within the boundaries of the District. (Supervisorial Districts 1-5). • Each appointee must be a voter in Fresno County.
Meeting Schedule
AB 1234 Ethics Training	Pursuant to Government Code Section 53235, if any local agency provides any type of compensation, salary, or stipend to a member of a legislative body or provides reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by a member of a legislative body in the performance of official duties, then all agency officials shall receive training in ethics.
