Membership Four appointed by Board of Supervisors
Term Specifications Three years, provided that if a County Supervisor is appointed to the Board, he or she may not serve on the Retirement Board beyond his or her term as County Supervisor.
Compensation Public members and retired members - $100 per day, $500 monthly maximum
Duties Responsible for policy and administration of the retirement system; this partially includes: making investments, making decisions on disability retirement, lobbying on behalf of the system, and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors.
Qualifications • Three appointees who are not connected in any way to County government, who are qualified electors of Fresno County • One appointee may be a County Supervisor; if not a County Supervisor, this appointee must not be connected in any way to County government.
Meeting Schedule 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month
AB 1234 Ethics Training Pursuant to Government Code Section 53235, if any local agency provides any type of compensation, salary, or stipend to a member of a legislative body or provides reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by a member of a legislative body in the performance of official duties, then all agency officials shall receive training in ethics.
