Duties | Mission Statement: The Fresno Regional Workforce Development system, a Joint Powers Authority between the City and County of Fresno, in partnership with both the public and private sectors, exists primarily to assist local businesses in meeting their human capital needs. In this, we both (1) screen and train prospective new employees and (2) assist in upskilling existing employees. By offering such quality referral and training services, directly linked to local industry needs, we are of greatest benefit to our unemployed and underemployed clients. |
Qualifications | • 1 member of the Board of Supervisors; • 7 representatives from the private sector; • 6 representatives of the Labor & Apprenticeship sector (nominated by Fresno Madera Central Labor Council); • 3 representatives from the Governmental, Economic, and Community Development sector • 2 representatives from the Education & Training sector • 1 representative from County’s Department of Social Services • 1 additional representative from the private sector – joint appointment of the City of Fresno and Board of Supervisors; • Business representatives must hold a majority. • All members shall either live or work within Fresno County. |

AB 1234 Ethics Training | Pursuant to Government Code Section 53235, if any local agency provides any type of compensation, salary, or stipend to a member of a legislative body or provides reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by a member of a legislative body in the performance of official duties, then all agency officials shall receive training in ethics. |
